A method for detecting and describing the noise emissions produced by train traffic is described in the DIN 38452-1 standard. The standard strives to assure comparability and consistency in the long-term recording and evaluation of railway noise. Automated measuring tools are used to record sound emissions and other pertinent factors in order to do this.
The standard places a strong emphasis on using a standardized assessment procedure, which makes it possible to identify and show parameters consistently based on measured data.
