Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS) - Geometrical Tolerancing - General Geometrical Specifications and General Size Specifications
Also Known As:
In the area of geometrical product specifications, ISO 22081:2021 is a standard that offers guidelines for the definition and interpretation of general geometrical requirements and general size specifications. It is based on ISO 8015:2011, most specifically Section 5.12 of that document.
This standard does not include generic criteria covered by other standards or their linkages and instead concentrates on integral aspects, such as size features. Features that are a direct component or part are referred to as integral features.
It is crucial to remember that the requirements outlined in this standard only apply to integral features; derived features or integral lines are not included. In ISO 17450-1, the terms "integral features" and "derived features" are defined.
Additionally, it is stated that this standard only addresses linear and angular dimensions, as all other dimensions are covered by ISO 14405-2.
