IEEE Standard for Digitizing Waveform Recorders
Also Known As: IEEE Std 1057-2017
The IEEE 1057-2017 standard defines vocabulary and test procedures for evaluating waveform recorder performance. The standard specifies specifications and test procedures for electronic digitizing waveform recorders, waveform analyzers, and digitally outputting oscilloscopes. While the standard is primarily concerned with general-purpose waveform recorders and analyzers, it recognizes that unique applications may necessitate additional manufacturer information and verification tests that are not addressed by the standard.
IEEE 1057-2017 shares parallels with another standard, IEEE 1241-2010, which addresses analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The former, however, should be used to evaluate waveform recorders, while the latter is intended for ADCs.
