Standard EN SampleIEEE Standard Requirements for Reliability Analysis in the Design and Operation of Safety Systems for Nuclear Power Generating Stations and Other Nuclear Facilities
Also Known As: IEEE Std 577-2022
The minimum acceptable requirements for carrying out reliability assessments for safety systems are outlined in IEEE Standard 577-2022, "Requirements for Reliability Analysis in the Design and Operation of Safety Systems for Nuclear Power Generating Stations and Other Nuclear Facilities." Although the requirement for reliability analysis was not created by this standard, it does offer recommendations on how to meet the requirements when it is used to show compliance with reliability standards.
The standard covers interactions between safety and non-safety systems, as well as safety systems in nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities. It covers a number of stages, such as system and component design, fabrication, testing, maintenance, and repair. The analysis's timing depends on what it will be used for.
This standard aims to set universal and minimal criteria for dependability assessments in nuclear facilities. It doesn't specify the requirement for analysis because that is covered by other standards like IEEE Standard 379, which is more concerned with the single-failure criterion. The use and application of the reliability techniques stated in this standard are, however, guided by IEEE Standard 352.
