Standard EN SampleMeasurement Procedures of Magnetic Field Levels Generated by Electronic and Electrical Equipment in the Automotive Environment with Respect to Human Exposure - Part 1: Low Frequency Magnetic Fields
Also Known As:
The measurement techniques for assessing the levels of low-frequency magnetic fields produced by electronic and electrical equipment in the automobile environment are covered by the IEC TS 62764-1:2019 standard. Assessing human exposure to these magnetic fields in passenger and commercial vehicles is the subject of this study.
The electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and related cables offered by the automobile manufacturer are included in the standard's scope of application for automotive components. In order to assure compliance with the relevant exposure regulations, it creates standardized operating conditions and specifies recommended measurements.
The standard is suitable for all sorts of engines and internal energy sources, and its frequency range is 1 Hz to 400 kHz. However, as wireless power transfer (WPT) methods are covered by a different standard (IEC 61980-1), this does not apply to them.
It is significant to note that this standard does not take the aberrant functioning of the vehicle or equipment under examination into account. The emphasis is therefore on normal operating conditions and how these affect how exposed humans are to low-frequency magnetic fields.
