Photovoltaic System Performance - Part 1: Monitoring
Also Known As:
For the monitoring and analysis of performance data from photovoltaic (PV) systems, the IEC 61724-1:2021 standard offers guidelines and requirements. It also lays the groundwork for additional standards that rely on the gathered data by defining the terms, tools, and procedures for PV system performance monitoring. This standard describes many classes of monitoring systems and provides instructions for choosing the right system in accordance with particular needs.
Compared to the previous version, the standard's 2021 revision includes a number of technical modifications. The PV industry is seeing an increase in the use of bifacial systems, so it includes measures for monitoring them. Irradiance sensor specifications have been revised to reflect current technology. According to developments in the sector, soil measurement techniques are also being updated. Additionally, Class C monitoring systems are no longer included in the current edition, most likely because of their scant utility or practicality. To reflect contemporary business practices and guarantee that the standard remains applicable and helpful, many requirements, suggestions, and explanatory comments are updated.
