Standard EN SampleA Computerized Approach to Transmission and Absorption Characteristics of the Human Eye
Also Known As:
The CIE 203:2012 standard addresses the need for reference spectral transmission and absorption data for the human eye in optical safety investigations and eye research. TC 6-15 created the standard by collecting spectral data from literature sources and determining the optimal form for the wavelength dependency of transmission and absorption of human eye components.
The standard compiles the transmission and absorption statistics of the clear ocular media (cornea, aqueous, lens, and vitreous) of the juvenile human eye (below 10 years old) and the rhesus eye as tabulated data in comma-delimited computer-accessible data files. The wavelength range covered is between 0.2 and 2.5 m. Furthermore, transmittance data of the whole clear ocular media in the human eye for wavelengths ranging from 0.3 m to 0.7 m are reported for various age groups ranging from 1 year to 100 years.
The book adds an Erratum that corrects Equations 4 and 5, as well as two language changes in Section 4.6. The standard is only available in English, with a brief synopsis in French and German. Downloadable tabular data is available on the CIE website.
